Larter is delivering this GP course weekly online, from Wednesday the 6th of November to Wednesday 27th of November.

Focussed psychological strategies are specific mental healthcare management strategies derived from evidence based psychological therapies.
They are a way to integrate evidence-based therapy into general practice clinical workflows.

FPS L2 builds on skills learnt in Level 1.

• Focuses on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) strategies and techniques, motivational interviewing, problem solving, mindfulness relaxation therapy, narrative therapies, domestic violence, care planning and item number usage.
• Discusses options for further study, supervision, professional development.

Facilitated by a GP (Dr Cathy Andronis) and a Clinical Psychologist (Dr Mai Chi), the workshops are primarily activity based and demonstrate techniques, videos, supervised practice of skills, a consumer and carer panel discussion and case-based discussions.

This training aligns with RACGP guidelines to ensure that GPs meet all the learning outcomes to achieve FPS Level Two accreditation. Content has been reviewed by people with lived mental health experience.

Participants must be able to commit to eight hours for an online learning component then 12 hours of eLearning Zoom workshops, split into 4 x 3 sessions facilitated by a GP and clinical psychologist.

Completion of the training package will allow GPs to claim MBS item numbers 2721, 2723, 2725 and 2727 for provision of FPS

The online learning component will be available upon completion of registration.
Please note you must complete the online modules and attend all four sessions to complete the training.

Cost

• $850 early bird until 30 September 2024
• $970 standard registration from 1 October 2024
• A $600 reimbursement is available to eligible GPs if they have completed FPS ST requirements and are registered Medicare providers of FPS

CPD

• This course is accredited with RACGP and ACRRM.
