NT Regional Training Hub and the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) are offering a PoCUS workshop to the doctors of Central Australia.
The workshop will introduce USS and provide you with the skills to either begin or expand on your PoCUS journey.
Dr Nadi Pandithage – Dr Nadi is a senior emergency physician who has worked in Darwin for over 20yrs. Dr Nadi joined PoCUS enthusiasts late in her career when she noted that there was a deficit in PoCUS teaching and training in Darwin, and wanted to train herself up so she could support her trainees. After completing a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound in Emergency Medicine Dr Nadi is now the Chair of ACEM’s ED Ultrasound Committee, the Clinical Lead of ED ultrasound training at RDPH and a passionate supporter of PoCUS teaching not only in the NT but worldwide! Dr Nadi is looking forward to bringing some PoCUS fun to Alice Springs.
Dr Claire Gorham – Emergency Consultant at Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals and POCUS enthusiast. Claire completed an ultrasound special skills term in 2019 and has been scanning patients and teaching medical students through to fellows ever since, both to maintain skills but also to learn new tricks. Dr Claire is a member of several ACEM college examination committees and loves a good quiz, she is also a Co-DEMT, and loves planning the teaching program and gaining new skills and insights as an educator and supervisor.
Dr Warren Aide – Dr Warren Adie is an Emergency Physician and Retrieval Consultant working in the Medical at Alice Springs Hospital. Holding a certificate diploma in clinical ultrasound and with aims to complete a diagnostic diploma in ultrasound, his enthusiasm in point-of-care-ultrasound arose from working in resource poor regional and remote hospitals across Australia.
