Our Speaker

Dr Manoji Gunathilake (MBBS/MD/DFSRH/FAChSHM/AFRACMA)  is the Head of  Sexual Health & Blood Borne Virus Unit of Centre for Disease Control, NT Department of Health. She is a senior staff  specialist in Sexual Health Medicine and worked as the sole Sexual health physician in the NT since 2014. 

 Manoji completed her undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Sri Lanka and United Kingdom. She has been working in Australia in the field of Sexual Health Medicine since 2012. 

 Society Memberships & Professional Activities:

  • Fellow, Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine, RACP; Associate Fellow Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, 

 Other Memberships:

  • Member of the  National HIV Standards, Training and Accreditation Committee
  • Executive committee member of Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine – RACP
  • Visiting Fellow Kirby Institute – University of New South Wales.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this activity participants will be able to:

    1. Describe the epidemiology and pathogenesis of Mycoplasma genitalium.
    2. Identify appropriate indications for testing and explain diagnostic methods for M. genitalium.
    3. Analyse the current trends in M. genitalium antimicrobial resistance.
    4. Apply evidence-based management strategies for M. genitalium during pregnancy.

 CPD
