NT Thrive Grant: Relocation and wellbeing support for health professionals
The NT Thrive grant supports health professionals relocating to the NT or health professionals who are moving within the NT to a more remote area.
Grant guidelines
The Program Guidelines have been updated for the 2026–27 financial year to better align the Thrive Grant with current Northern Territory health workforce priorities and available funding.
Key changes include:
Minimum employment requirement – Applicants must hold a minimum 12-month employment contract.
Updated eligibility criteria – Eligibility requirements and supported professions have been reviewed.
Priority workforce areas – Greater focus on workforce priorities identified through the Northern Territory Health Workforce Needs Assessment.
Priority locations – Funding will be prioritised towards locations with the greatest workforce need, particularly rural and remote communities.
Revised assessment process – Applications will be assessed against workforce priorities, available funding and program objectives. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee funding approval.
Health professionals – GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers – who will be working in primary health care in the NT and been placed by us, are eligible to apply.
