Sabrina has embraced the adventure of working in remote health in the NT, making the move to Katherine to pursue career progression and grow her skills in private practice, while experiencing a part of Australia she had never explored before. As part of her relocation to join Katherine Physio, Sabrina received a NT Thrive Grant from NT PHN.
“The grant support helped significantly, making flights, accommodation and the general set-up of moving affordable,” Sabrina said.
Now working across a varied caseload, no 2 days look the same. From clinic appointments and home visits to aged care and teaching Pilates classes, Sabrina says the diversity of work has helped build her confidence as a practitioner.
“Seeing individuals regain confidence in their abilities – returning to work, sports and everyday activities – is incredibly rewarding,” she said.
While the wet season and floods brought some early challenges, Sabrina has loved exploring the region during the dry season, spending weekends discovering national parks, walking trails and camping spots around Katherine.
And when asked if regional or remote health is part of her future?
“Yes, I do – keep your eyes peeled!”
