How we work

We work with the primary care sector across the NT to strengthen responses to domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV).

Our role focuses on supporting early identification, and improving pathways to care, recovery, and healing.

Programs are designed in partnership with local organisations to make sure responses are culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, and grounded in community need.

Why this matters

DFSV has a significant impact on individuals, families and communities across the Northern Territory, with many people first seeking help through primary care services.

Strengthening the sector’s ability to identify and respond early helps connect people to support sooner and improves pathways to safety, recovery and healing. In the NT context, locally designed and culturally informed responses are critical to ensuring support is safe, accessible and appropriate for diverse communities.

What we fund

  • Primary care; we support programs that help GPs, nurses, and health professionals respond to DFSV safely
  • Early intervention and response; we focus on improving programs that support early identification and provide pathways to support services
  • Recovery and healing pathways; we support trauma-informed care that focuses on safety, trust, and long-term wellbeing
  • Workforce; we fund training and resources to build teams
  • Partnerships; we partner with organisations across the NT, including Central Australian Women’s Legal Service and Katherine West Health Board.

Opportunities for your organisation
