NT Immunisation Access and Uptake Initiative EOI

Submit your expression of interest form by Friday, 24 April 2026 to be eligible for funding of up to $20,000.

Introduction

NT PHN is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from health services to deliver targeted activities aimed at increasing uptake of COVID-19 and other recommended vaccines across the Northern Territory.

This initiative aims to improve immunisation coverage, with a focus on vulnerable, under-immunised, and priority populations, and to address local access barriers through place-based solutions.

Funding coverage

Funding will support locally tailored strategies to improve access to vaccination and strengthening immunisation practices.

Funding is available for a range of activities, including:

targeted initiatives to increase vaccination uptake of COVID-19 and other recommended vaccines including all NIP vaccines
outreach activities for vulnerable or under-immunised populations
quality Improvement (QI) activities (data cleansing, recall and reminder systems)
identifying and following up patients with overdue vaccinations
dedicated vaccination clinics (e.g. extended hours or immunisation days)
pop-up or mobile vaccination services
short-term clinical or administrative workforce support
patient engagement strategies (SMS, phone calls, community engagement)
workforce training and support to become accredited immunisers
reducing access barriers (e.g. transport, outreach to homebound patients)
reasonable travel and program delivery costs
innovative, locally tailored approaches to improving coverage.

Funding cannot be used for:

activities that duplicate existing funded programs
business-as-usual operations or routine immunisation delivery
capital works or large equipment purchases
purchase of vaccines or consumables available through existing supply (e.g. NIP vaccines)
activities not directly linked to increasing immunisation uptake
ongoing or long-term positions
retrospective funding
general health promotion not focused on immunisation
non-clinical programs without a clear vaccination outcome
activities not targeting identified gaps or priority populations
costs not directly related to program delivery.

Assessment Process

Applicants may apply for funding of up to $20,000 (AUD) per proposal.

As part of the EOI submission, applicants must clearly outline:

total funding amount requested (AUD) (not exceeding $20,000)
breakdown of costs, including key activities (e.g. workforce, outreach, QI activities, engagement)
timeframe for delivery (including start and end dates)
justification for funding, linked to identified need and expected impact on immunisation uptake
value for money, including how the proposed approach maximises reach and outcomes.

Applicants are encouraged to ensure funding requests are proportionate to the scale of activity and target population.

All EOIs will be reviewed by a Tender Assessment Panel and assessed against the following criteria:

alignment with program objectives and identified need
target population and need
implementation approach
expected outcomes and impact
monitoring and reporting.

EOIs must be submitted by COB 24^th April 2026 for up to $20,000¹. Funds must be spent by 30 June 2026.
