Northern Territory Primary Health Network’s (NT PHN) CEO, Gill Yearsley, a respected leader in the health sector, has made the decision to leave the organisation after almost five years in the role.
Gill joined NT PHN in July 2020, informing the Board late last year that she had decided to relocate back to Queensland and will remain in her position while recruitment for a new CEO takes place.
Interim Chair, David Blair, said: “Gill has been an integral part of NT PHN for the past five years. With almost 40 years’ experience in the health sector, she has led significant strategic change initiatives for the organisation and possesses a deep understanding of the complex challenges facing the health sector in the Territory.
“During her time leading the organisation Gill has been instrumental in strengthening healthcare partnerships, enhancing service delivery to remote and regional communities, and advancing NT PHN’s strategic objectives. Under her leadership, NT PHN has expanded support for primary healthcare providers and improved health outcomes for Territorians.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Gill for her leadership and dedication to NT PHN. Her commitment to strengthening primary healthcare in the Territory has left a lasting impact, and we wish her every success in her future endeavours.
“Whilst we are sad to see Gill go, we are excited about the future.”
As Gill finishes on 24 April 2025, the NT PHN Board has commenced a national recruitment process to appoint a new CEO who will continue to drive the organisation’s mission and ensure a smooth transition of leadership, seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to guide the organisation through its next phase of growth and innovation.
