NT PHN celebrated a significant milestone with the Northern Territory Lived Experience Network (NTLEN) earlier this month, marking the opening of its new ‘Growing Stronger’ space in Katherine. The space will support delivery of the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP) in the region, funded by NT PHN.
‘Growing Stronger’ is a peer support program where participants explore non-clinical strategies to strengthen their mental health and wellbeing through discussions and creative activities.
As part of the opening, NTLEN hosted 2 open days, welcoming community members, service providers and stakeholders to explore the facility, connect with one another and learn more about the support available through the program.
Designed as a safe and welcoming environment, the new space features dedicated men’s and women’s areas, an outdoor space and communal gathering places where people can come together for group activities like painting and tie-dyeing.
Visitors were also invited to provide feedback to help shape service improvements and strengthen sector awareness.
Around 80 people attended across the 2 days, including cultural consultant Anthony Ah Kit who supported consultation and engagement with both stakeholders and community members.
‘Growing Stronger’ is now located at 42 Katherine Terrace.
