Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NT PHN) is honoured to announce the winners of the 2024 Health Professional of the Year Awards, celebrating the outstanding achievements of primary health care workers across the Territory.Â
The awards were presented on Friday 16 August during the Northern Territory PHN Compass conference, a biennial event where health professionals across the Northern Territory come together to share knowledge and learn about the latest innovations in health care.Â
This year, 38 nominations were received across 7 categories showcasing the incredible work of people in health from across the region.Â
The winners of the 2024 Health Professional of the Year Awards are:Â
- General Practice Registrars Australia General Practitioner of the Year
Penelope Ramsay (Miwatj Health Service)Â - CRANAplus Nurse/Midwife of the Year
Bruce Reid (Red Lily Health Service) - Fox Education and Consulting Allied Health Professional of the Year
Sam Brennan (Sam Brennan Psychology)Â - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker of the Year
Teresa Ngurruwuthan - Primary Care Support Person of the Year
Deborah Page (St Phillips College) - Fox Education and Consulting Primary Health Care Team of the Year
Child Youth Assessment and Therapeutic Service (Central Australian Aboriginal Congress) - FCD Health Primary Health Care Service of the Year
Purple House (Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation).Â
The 2024 Administrator’s Medal for Health Professional of the Year was awarded to Bruce Reid from Red Lily Health Service for his invaluable service to health care.Â
Each category winner receives a $1,000 voucher to put towards their training and professional development.Â
