  • Salaries starting at $112,905 p.a. (pro rata), $57.90 per hour plus $22 an hour remote allowance. Effective Salary is $178,096 p.a

Why Congress?
 
For over 40 years, Congress has provided support and advocacy for Aboriginal people in the struggle for justice and equity. Since that time, Congress has expanded to become the largest Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation in the Northern Territory, providing a comprehensive, holistic and culturally-appropriate primary health care service to Aboriginal people living in and nearby Alice Springs, including five remote communities; Amoonguna, Ntaria (and Wallace Rockhole), Santa Teresa, Utju (Areyonga) and Mutitjulu.
 
What’s the role?
 
In keeping with our commitment to Central Australian communities, Congress is about to transition the Yulara, Imanpa, and Kaltukatjara Health Clinics into the Congress fold.
We are excited to invite applications from suitably qualified Remote Area Nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners who would thrive in the ground breaking conditions that this transition brings.
Help support people from the world’s oldest living culture while experiencing work and life in a small remote community in one of the most spectacular regions of Australia.
Congress offers opportunities in remote nursing, complete with transition to primary and remote support.
  • Provide primary health care including emergency care, chronic disease management and prevention for remote residents and visitors
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call roster for after-hours medical emergencies accompanied by on-call support worker
  • There are permanent, medium term and short contracts are available

  • Salaries starting at $112,905 p.a. (pro rata), $57.90 p.h. (plus Remote Workers Allowance of $43,000 p.a. pro-rata)
  • Effective salary starts at $178,096
  • Generous salary packaging and Six Weeks Annual Leave plus 3 weeks Remote Area Leave
  • Opportunity for Kaltukatjara staff to spend some weekends in Yulara
Is the role right for you?
 
  • A current AHPRA RN or AHP registration with at least 3 years’ post grad experience
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Working with Children Clearance & recent Police Clearance
  • Critical care or remote experience an advantage
  • Broad clinical experience in a primary or acute health care setting with skills in planning, coordinating and decision making within a clinical setting
  • Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment with Aboriginal clients and staff
