Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the current landscape of eating disorder treatment in Western Australia, with a focus on regional and remote areas.
  • Summarise key findings from consultations with over 150 individuals affected by eating disorders, and discuss how these insights have informed culturally appropriate screening tools and frameworks for Aboriginal children and adolescents.
  • Explain the design and roll-out of a state-wide training and supervision model supporting CAMHS clinicians in WA.
  • Reflect on the relevance of the WA-based approaches and propose how these learnings could be adapted or applied within the Northern Territory context.
