Webinar: ‘PDA and Autism in Children and Teens: Going Deeper’

Webinar: ‘PDA and Autism in Children and Teens: Going Deeper’

For those interested knowing more about the Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) Profile

Join Professor Tony Attwood and Dr Michelle Garnett, internationally recognised autism experts for this three-hour webinar.

The purpose of the presentation is to deepen the participant’s knowledge and strategies for supporting children and teenagers with a PDA profile at home, school and in therapy, including for the PDA-er themselves. The course assumes knowledge from our previous course, PDA and Autism – An Introduction. This course is available on demand.

Informed by current research on PDA, our own clinical experience and the lived experience of now adult PDAers, we have designed a course to assist attendees in furthering their knowledge and understanding of PDA and support strategies that are helpful. Our course will present helpful strategies to maintain the new mindset needed when parenting and/or teaching or providing therapy to a PDAer, in addition to practical strategies for home, school and therapy settings. PDAers often have complex profiles that require understanding of co-occurring conditions, such as autism, trauma syndromes, autistic burnout and rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD), to inform support strategies.

Who should attend?

This webinar is suitable for all health professionals working with children and adolescents with ADHD and autism and those who wish to gain a more in-depth understanding of the PDA profile.
