• Dr Ashish Yadav
  • Dr Ashish Yadav is a Specialist Public Health Physician and Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. Currently serving as the Medical Advisor for Immunisation and RHD Control Program at the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) NT, Dr Yadav leads the clinical oversight for jurisdictional vaccine strategy and the public health management of vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks.
  • With a PhD from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, Ashish has over 15 years of experience across international health systems and regional Australia. He has a significant background in establishing multi-sectoral frameworks for chronic disease control, complex immunisation rollouts within Aboriginal and diverse populations, as well as human biosecurity governance. Ashish is a dedicated specialist focused on translating complex epidemiological data into frontline clinical policy to improve health outcomes across the Northern Territory. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the key National Immunisation Program (NIP) funded vaccines for older adults in the NT, including new 2026 updates for Influenza and RSV.
2. Discuss low influenza vaccine coverage in the NT’s older cohort.
3. Recognise the main causes of vaccine hesitancy in this group and how to address them
