Presenters
James Gerrard is an Education & Engagement Podiatrist. He is also a whitefella with over 45 years of accumulated non-Indigenous privilege drawn from a lifetime of social, economic, & political systems which totally benefit him. He lives on Wadawurrung Country, works on Arrernte Country, & studies on Wiradjuri Country. He has a 17-year history of working & studying in a Western tertiary academic and research space, but has learned (un-learned) more working with & for the original human healers, scientists, & researchers of the land now known as Australia – who have been teaching and learning since time immemorial.

Laura Stuart is a non-Indigenous person. She coordinates the (‘Looking after feet’) Program at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress in Alice Springs. After working as a Physiotherapist in Melbourne hospitals, Laura went to work at Alice Springs Hospital in 2017. Since then she has had the privilege of working alongside those who have experienced limb loss due to diabetes, by providing Amputee Rehab services. Laura moved across to Congress when this project presented an opportunity to ask stakeholders how services can be strengthened.
