Darwin GPs, the RACGP is holding a full-day workshop which will increase your understanding of point-of-care ultrasounds in the diagnostic process.

Who can attend?

RACGP members and non-members are invited to attend.

Course Overview

Experienced rural doctors and sonographers will guide you through the diverse applications of point-of-care ultrasound in primary care services using advanced, high-end mobile ultrasound equipment.

Participants will rotate through six stations:

  1. eFast
  2. deep venous thrombosis
  3. heart and lung ultrasound
  4. intravenous line placement and foreign object retrieval
  5. musculoskeletal soft tissue
  6. first trimester transabdominal obstetric ultrasound.

CPD

The workshop is a CPD Approved Activity eligible for a total of 10 hours including 5 hours Educational Activity and 5 hours of Reviewing Performance. It is also approved for all categories of the Rural Procedural Grants Program.
