Physio Skills’ Female Pelvic Health- Foundations and Fundamentals is a introductory Pelvic Health Course that will  introduce you to female pelvic health physiotherapy.

Course Outline

This course is delivered in two parts:

• 15 hours of online content
  • MODULE 1 – Pelvic Anatomy
  • MODULE 2 – The Pelvic Floor Muscles
  • MODULE 3 – The Pelvic Assessment
  • MODULE 4- Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction
  • MODULE 5- Pelvic Organ Prolap

• 2 day face to face practical course
  • • Pelvic Floor Anatomy and Muscles, Orientating in Bowl
    • Clinical History Taking
    • The Pelvic Physical Assessment (Including Internal Vaginal Examinations)
    • Emotions, Grounding and Trauma-informed Care
    • Stress Incontinence – Clinical Reasoning Workshop
    • Pelvic Organ Prolapse – Clinical Reasoning, POP-Q and Functional Prolapse Assessment
    • Overactive Bladder- Clinical Reasoning workshop
    • Pelvic Bowl Relaxation and Visualisation

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training participants will be able to:

1. Perform a comprehensive pelvic interview, making sure you have screened for ALL pelvic conditions, even the ones you may not be competent in managing.
2. Perform a detailed pelvic examination and feel comfortable assessing for the function of the pelvic floor muscles, pelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse.
3. Clinically reason a hypothesis from your examination findings
4. Create a comprehensive treatment plan based on clinical findings
