The NT PHN invites Rural & Remote Doctors from across the NT to join us for two days at the Doubletree by Hilton, Alice Springs in August.

Who is this for?

Rural and Remote doctors in the Northern Territory working in primary health, submit your EOI here  for this evidence-based weekend to improve the quality of your life as a rural or remote medical professional.

The program has been rigorously evaluated in Adelaide and the results show that over 90% of rural doctors who have attended have made significant and lasting changes in their life.

What you will learn

Rural & Remote Doctors attending this Retreat will:

• discover that they have choices which ultimately influence their quality of life
• make decisions about what they would like to change to improve their lives as rural GPs
• develop strategies (including time management, communication, self-talk, self-awareness, saying no, dealing with -perfectionism etc) to assist with change
• deal with obstacles or barriers to change, including internal (self-talk, high expectations, perfectionism) and external (workload, others’ demands, lack of resources, financial and family pressures) barriers
• network with other rural / remote doctors and share strategies for dealing with the challenges of rural practice

• Hugh Kearns
  • Hugh Kearns is an internationally recognised public speaker, educator and researcher. He regularly lectures at leading universities across the world. He is a co-director of iThinkWell which takes the latest research in psychology and education and applies it to high-performing people and groups. He is based in Adelaide, Australia and researches at Flinders University.
