PC4 GP Circle Webinar: 3 Cancer Research Projects in General Practice
GP Circle invites GPs, practice nurses and practice managers to hear from Australian experts about the three cancer research projects underway in Australian general practice.
Speakers
Claire Vajdic is a Professor of Epidemiology at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. Claire’s team recently received over $1.58 million in MRFF funding to build a new health equity digital navigation tool that will fast-track the elimination of cervical cancer in Australia. She will be present on the progress of this project.
Brent Venning is a GP with research interests in cancer screening and diagnosis with a focus on unwarranted variations in care. He will present on the findings of a recent study examining the public’s preferences for investigating cancer-related symptoms in general practice.
Dr Larry Myers started his post-doctoral research position in the Health Systems and Behavioural Research team at Cancer Council Queensland in May 2021. Larry will present on his PC4 Training Award-funded project which aims to understand the mechanisms underlying the socioeconomic disparities in cancer screening.
