JCTS Cultural Safety Education: Expedited Specialist Pathway for Specialist International Medical Graduates One-Day Workshop
This face-to-face one-day workshop is tailored especially for Specialist International Medical Graduates on the Expedited Specialist Pathway.Â
These AHPRA Medical Board-approved workshops are a joint venture of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
The Joint Colleges Training Services (JCTS) Cultural Safety Education workshops weave clinical and cultural education together to ensure that GPs and medical professionals are equipped with the skills they need to deliver culturally safe health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Workshops will be held in late May 2026.

Learning Outcomes
- To acknowledge colonisation and systemic racism, social, cultural, behavioural, and economic factors which impact individual and community health.
- Acknowledge and address individual racism, your own biases, assumptions, stereotypes, and prejudices and provide care that is holistic, free of bias and racism.
- Recognise the importance of self-determined decision-making, partnership and collaboration in healthcare which is driven by the individual, family, and community.
- Foster a safe working environment through leadership to support the rights and dignity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and colleagues.
Prior Learning
