• Dr Ashish Yadav | MBBS, MD, MPH, PhD, FAFPHM  Public Health Physician and Medical Advisor- Immunisation, CDC Northern Territory 
  • Dr Ashish Yadav is a Specialist Public Health Physician and Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. Currently serving as the Medical Advisor for Immunisation and RHD Control Program at the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) NT, Dr Yadav leads the clinical oversight for jurisdictional vaccine strategy and the public health management of vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks.
  • With a PhD from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, Ashish has over 15 years of experience across international health systems and regional Australia. He has a significant background in establishing multi-sectoral frameworks for chronic disease control, complex immunisation rollouts within Aboriginal and diverse populations, as well as human biosecurity governance. Ashish is a dedicated specialist focused on translating complex epidemiological data into frontline clinical policy to improve health outcomes across the Northern Territory.

Experienced CDC nurse, Jayne Porter, will also be on hand to answer all immunisation-related questions.

1. Apply the 2026 clinical guidelines for the respiratory season (Influenza, RSV, COVID-19) and the current NT diphtheria outbreak response.
2. Navigate the National Immunisation Program (NIP) schedule to correctly identify catch-up and booster requirements for older and high-risk adults.
3. Understand the main reasons behind vaccine hesitancy and use quick, effective talking points to address them.
4. Identify practical ways to build opportunistic vaccination into everyday clinic routines.
