Contribute to the early detection and decisive treatment of CKD

The NT PHN and Kidney Health Australia (KHA) invites Primary Health Professionals to join us for this free CPD education evening at the Oaks Elan Hotel Darwin. A buffet dinner will follow the presentation.

Our presenter, Dr Manohar Mogulla, explore the evidence in the link between chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, and the impact of these three conditions on an individual’s wellbeing.

According to KHA, kidney disease affects one in seven Australians. If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person this number increases to one in five people. In remote and very remote areas of Australia, the incidence of kidney failure among First Nations Australians is especially high, with rates up to 20 times higher than those of comparable non-Indigenous peoples.(https://kidney.org.au/your-kidneys/first-nations-australians/)

• Dr Manohar Mogulla
  • Dr Manohar Mogulla, MBBS, Grad Dip Health Services Management, FRACP, is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, who completed his training in South Australia in Nephrology.  Along with General Nephrology and General Medicine, Dr Manohar’s areas of interest include Glomerulonephritis, Chronic Kidney disease and endovascular interventions. 

Learning Objectives

1. Explain how chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease interact and influence each other.
2. Describe the importance of Urine ACR testing in the detection and management of chronic kidney disease.
3. Review medication and treatment when managing chronic kidney disease alongside diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
