Free CPD Education Evening in Alice Springs – ‘Eating Disorder Treatment for Trans & Gender Diverse People’
GPs & other Primary Health Professionals – Please join the NT PHN, and NT Health’s Right Care Right Place (RCRP) Project, for a free CPD Education Evening
Grace Dwyer, the Eating Disorders Care Coordinator from Right Care, Right Place will be facilitating this event on behalf of the NT PHN. The National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) will also deliver a short presentation.

- NEDC is an initiative of the Australian eating disorder sector funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care and dedicated to developing and implementing a nationally consistent, evidence-based system of care for the prevention and treatment of eating disorders. NEDC is a national collaborative platform for experts in lived experience, clinical services, and research to generate unified, evidence-based sector positions and consistent national standards that are translated into practical action for prevention, identification, and treatment. NEDC also has a vital role in coordinating investment and providing expertise and impartial policy advice to the Australian Government
Our Speaker
Dr Frankie Garnett
- Frankie is a GP who has been in Mparntwe for ten years. They work at Congress Alukura and the Vital Collective with special interests in reproductive health, sexual health and queer and trans health. They also love to sing, and have been a part of the Alice Sings Choir for many years.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:​
- Identify common signs and symptoms of an eating disorder to
- Describe how eating disorders may present in Trans and Gender Diverse people
- Recognise the relationship between gender affirming care and eating disorder care
- Outline local referral pathways for Trans and Gender Diverse people requiring eating disorder support
