The Flinders NT Regional Training Hub, in collaboration with the NT PHN, is convening a consultation workshop to shape a future multidisciplinary Community of Practice (CoP) for clinical supervisors within the Northern Territory.

This workshop will be supported by educators and experienced supervisors who will facilitate structured discussion and feedback. Participation will be limited to a small group of stakeholders to enable focused, high-quality consultation and strategic discussion. We are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from multidisciplinary representation across professions and practice settings.

Who Should Attend?

This full-day workshop is designed for experienced medical, nursing/midwifery and allied health clinical supervisors (3+ years supervising early-career clinicians) who are interested in contributing to the design of a Community of Practice that is inviting, relevant and responsive to the Northern Territory context.

What is a clinical supervisor?

• A clinician who is appointed to support and develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of a less experienced practitioner as part of that person’s career pathway to achieve credentialling by a recognised agency (e.g. university, clinical college, clinical education provider, or health provider)
• It is not a line manager, employer or interested party although supervisors often have elements of these roles as well as their clinical supervision responsibilities.

Roundtable Purpose

• Identify the key needs and challenges of clinical supervisors across disciplines
• Define the priority outcomes and value proposition of a NT Community of Practice
• Inform the design of preferred formats, supports and engagement models
• Ensure the CoP reflects the realities of supervisors who may not hold academic appointments or dedicated teaching time
