The RDH Obs & Gynae Team and the NT PHN invite GPs, midwives & AHPs to a free, ‘RDH Obstetrics and Gynaecology Update and Ward Tour’

This GP CPD education is being delivered as part of the RANZCOG Obstetrics and Gynaecology Education and Training (OGET) project. ‘The OGET project addresses the essential need for equitable delivery of health services in Australia. Data collected highlights a significant maldistribution of the workforce with a shortage of maternity and maternity-related services in country towns, and a need for upskilling and training opportunities in rural, regional, and remote areas.’  https://ranzcog.edu.au/womens-health/rural-health/oget-project/

A Ward tour will follow the presentations and platters will be served. This event is an excellent opportunity to get to know RDH’s O& G team and ask the Team your most pressing questions. They may also have some questions for GPs.

  • Dr Harris is the NT’s only gynae-oncologist. She is based at the Royal Darwin Hospital. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:​

‘Obstetrics: Missing Antenatal Results – How to Deal with it’ – A/Prof. Ash Hanafy

• • Recognise and manage situations where antenatal results (e.g. blood group, screening tests, scans) are missing, ensuring safe follow-up and documentation.
  • Develop a systematic approach to communicating with maternity services and patients to retrieve results and minimise risk in shared antenatal care.

‘Understand and apply the latest Cervical Screening Programme Updates, Including HPV Primary Testing and Management Pathways for Abnormal Results’ – Dr Michelle Harris.

• • Improve patient counselling skills by confidently explaining screening results, recall intervals, and follow-up recommendations in general practice.

HealthPathways
