Advance Personal Plans and the Safe Prescribing of Schedule 8 Medicines for Primary Health Professionals – Palmerston, Darwin and Katherine
The NT PHN invites Primary Health Professionals to join us for this RACGP accredited CPD evening in Palmerston, Darwin or Katherine for two great presentations:
- ‘Starting the Conversation: Advance Personal Planning (APP) for Health Professionals in Primary Care’
- Samantha will dispel the myths around APP and demonstrate how Primary Health Professionals can play an important role is supporting their patients to plan for future care. Contrary to what is commonly believed, most families do NOT know what end-of-life decision their loved one would make.
- ‘Prescribing Schedule 8 Medications in the Northern Territory: Legal Requirements, Best Practice, and End-of-Life Care Considerations’
- S8 drugs (controlled drugs) are substances for therapeutic use which have a high potential for abuse, dependency and diversion.
Who is this for?
- APP: We encourage all Primary Health Professionals including GPs and GP Registrars working in primary health settings to attend to learn how your practice can best support your patients to plan for their care in the future.
- Schedule 8 medicines’: GPs and GP Registrars.
