The General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GPACI) aims to enhance healthcare services for elderly residents in aged care facilities. This initiative seeks to support more regular, planned care within aged care homes, benefiting both providers and residents.
Providers and practices can begin registering for GPACI from 1 July 2024.
The Practice Incentives Program General Practitioner Aged Care Access Incentive (PIP GP ACAI) will cease on 31 July 2024. The final payment for PIP GP ACAI will be made in August 2024 for the reference period from 1 May to 31 July 2024.
GPs eligible for the final PIP GP ACAI payment are encouraged to update their bank details promptly to facilitate timely payment. Following the cessation of PIP GP ACAI, GPs will have three payment quarters to finalize outstanding payments they are expecting to receive; any outstanding amounts after this period will be forfeited.
Practices and providers may be eligible to receive payments under both PIP GP ACAI and the MyMedicare General Practice in Aged Care Incentive for services delivered during the overlap period, provided they meet specific eligibility and servicing requirements.
